How CRS age points work

Under the current Comprehensive Ranking System tables used by Northway (effective from the 2025-03-25 rule set), age points are highest for applicants in their twenties and step down after age 29. Points reach zero at age 45 and above on the core human-capital age factor.
CRS age is assessed as of the day you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), not the day you create a profile. If you are still waiting in the pool when you cross a birthday threshold, your score can change even if nothing else in your file changed.
Illustrative table values in the current Northway rule pack (2026-v1): ages 20–29 score 110 without a spouse in the core age factor; age 30 is lower; each subsequent year continues to step down until age 45 is zero. Always confirm against the IRCC CRS criteria page before relying on a number.
